Dear All Excel Experts,

I hv this problem in opening shared Excel files in a LAN network environment even though no one is accessing it. Error message received is "File is being modified by another user. It will be opened as 'Read-Only' " .Then there is options for user to click on "Read-only", "Notify" and "Cancel". Click on "Notify" has no effect.

What could be the problem and how do I rectify this?
