Why is pointer and keyboard control is lost in certain Excel file.

When using certain Excel files, keyboard control and mounse pointer control
is lost. Excel must be terminated using the Task manager in order to regain
control of mouse and keyboard. Please help!

The file in question may have macros that run automatically that disable the keyboard/mouse. When you open the file, if you are prompted to enable macros, choose the option to Disable them and see how Excel behaves.
