    Merge data

    Hi all

I am struggling with merging and would like to know if someone can help me please.

I have attached a sample spreadsheet.

as set out in the spreadsheet highlighted in green I would like to do the following

Cell A2 data needs to be brought over with a fomular into Cell C15 maintaining the subject in C15 as set out in sample L15
    the same with

    A2 into Cell C15
    B2 into Cell C11
    C2 Into Cell C12
    D2 Into Cell B14
    E2 Into Cell C13
    F2 Into Cell C16

As in the sample sheet I have to manually copy the information into the column as indicated in the sheet under sample highlighted in yellow and red name sample.

Please assist me with a formula in cells C11,C12, ,C13 and C15 , C16 and B14 to bring information in row 2 into the above column without removing the information in these cell.

Your help will be gladly appreciated.

    Re: Merge data

    Hi Pepe Le Mokko

My humble apologies for not including the sample sheet in the thread.

    I am attaching.

Look at the highlighted cell G2 as all the content is in the sheet and needs to be split as per cell C15 till C21.

Please advise if there is a way to have this done.

as i need to copy the cell to a notepad manually, and then I need to split it in the notepad and then copy it over into Excel in order to create the invoice.

    Your Feedback would be appreciated.

    Re: Merge data

Are you using 2021 or 365? Please update your profile accordingly, as it makes a difference.

Why does the text need to be split? Why not just use Text Wrap for it in one cell???

    Re: Merge data

Why do you have to split the content in Notepad? How should the splitting be achieved ? On basis of number of characters, words?

    Re: Merge data

The splitting can be done on a number of characters
as the line item only allows a certain number of characters
only 54 characters are allowed in the line
and as you can see as per the same sheet i have send it is more than that and the client would not be able to see the entire breakdown

we are currently using Microsoft 365 Apps for Enterprise.

    Perhaps this will help.
    1. Populate columns H:Z using:
    Formula: copy to clipboard
Please Login or Register to view this content.

    2. Populate C13 and down using: =TOCOL(H2:Z2)
Note that the length of the text in each row can be changed by changing the number in cell H1.
