    Simple O/S Invoice Report

Hi I'm new here so don't roast me for being a bit slow.
I use Excel everyday as a QS but I am by no means a power user.
I have recently started a new role for an organization that has some seriously clunky systems and processes that makes my workload a nightmare, but I think Excel is more than capable of adding a bit of automation.
My first problem is a weekly issued o/s invoice report that has data populated columns A-M with no formulas in place.
During the week I will add my comments and actions into column N.
So currently, when the new report is issued, I manually filter and copy comments over from the old report to the new, but as it can be a few hundred rows of data its time-consuming task.
I would really appreciate some help in understanding the best way to paste the new report into a workbook that will automatically populate the comments from the previous week into the new week against the relevant row.
Obviously, Invoices paid in the interim will not appear on the new report and new invoices will be added, each row has a unique Invoice number and work order number.

    Many thanks

Hello Slackbladder. Welcome to the forum.

We need to address 2 items before we can start.

    1. RE: "MS-Off Ver: Not Sure"
The best solutions often rely on knowing WHICH Office PRODUCT (Excel, NOT Windows) that you have. Please check that your forum profile is up-to-date. If you aren't sure, in Excel go to File/Account and report what it says below the MS logo at the top of that page. If your version is for Mac, please also state this.

The three most recent Excel PRODUCTS are Excel 2019, Excel 2021 and MS365 - if you are using MS365, please give this name along with the Version number in your profile (e.g. MS365 (PC) Version 2211). The version number is in the About Excel section further down the Account page.

    2. Please upload a workbook or a representative cut down copy, anonymised if necessary. It is always easier to advise if we can see your request in its context.

Show a before and after situation with manually calculated results, explaining which information is data and which is results, and if it's not blindingly obvious how you have arrived at your results some explanatory notes as well.

To upload a file click the Go Advanced button at the foot of your post, look underneath the post area for the Manage Attachments section and take it from there.

    Once again welcome.
    Dave
