    Sum totals based on criteria

    Hi,

    I am trying to create an assets spreadsheet.

    On this spreadsheet (as attached) I want to sum accumulated depreciation of an asset based on the financial year selected in cell L1.

    For example for asset in row 3, I want to sum amounts from P3:V3 for my selected year of 2023/24. I tried to a formula in cell L3 but it give me a #VALUE error, so will really appreciate of someone can help me with this.

    Thanks

    Should be: =SUMIFS($P3:$AB3,$P$2:$AB$2,"<="&$L$1)

    Re: Sum totals based on criteria

    Thanks, but it sums the total for that asset. I would like the formula to calculate the accumulate depreciation for a up to a given year. So in my attached spreadsheet if my given year is 2020/21 (Cell L1) my calculation in cell L3 should be that total of P3:S3. I hope this makes sense.

    =SUMIFS($P3:$AB3,$P$2:$AB$2,"<="&$L$1)

    This works great. Thanks.
