Hi,
I have few basic questions about custom format which I don't really understand.
To display numbers with Thousands Separator a comma is used.
I typed #,# but Excel automatically changes this to #,###
I understood # as a digit placeholder, sort of like * in DOS and ? in DOS is similar to 0, except it is number. So wouldn't #,# be sufficient?
And what does #,##0 actually mean? The resulting display is the same as #,###.
Even the examples in Excel has #,##0
Thank you
Henry
