Data Labels only on "Line Ends" on Excel line graph

Searched excelforum to try to get answer to this question. Unfortunately I have not been able to solve and now posting to the group for assistance.
In the attached spreadsheet the line graph is located at b137 & and another at Q20. Looking to only include the starting value (left) and the ending value (right). Apologies if this question, or a variation of this has already been posted.
    Thanks

First - remove the labels from your graph entirely, then select the one point on the graph that you want to be labeled and by rightclicking the selected point on the line select the Add label option. Repeat for all the points you want.

    Thanks for your speedy response.
This method definitely worked and allowed me to manually update the graph to only show the start and end value.
The one problem with this method was it does not update automatically when new data is added.
Is there a way, after new data is added, to show the latest or most current value automatically without adjusting manually.
I included the spreadsheet for reference.
    Any assistance would be appreciated.
    Thanks

Re: Data Labels only on "Line Ends" on Excel line graph

I would probably do something like either of these options:

    1) Instead of using the built in data label options, I would use "Value from cells." In the range where you enter/copy the data label value/text, only have entries for the first and last data point. All intermediate points are blank. When you add data to the table/chart, simply change the cells with the data label value/text.

    2) Use a "dummy series" that combines all of the first and last data points from the source data and apply data labels to that data series.

Either approach will add a helper column to the chart's source data, but either approach, if you build any formulas correctly, should have the flexibility you ask for along with minimal user interaction with the data labels.

Which approach do you like? Are you able to implement that approach yourself, or do you need help?
