Disable any selection choices in Slicers

Hello. I have created a slicer that I want to be displayed in a dashboard only in read mode. That is, I want the final user only to see the items displayed in the slicer but not allow him to select any of them. In summary, I want to disable the slicer buttons. Is it possible?
    Thanks for your help.

You can achieve this by setting the slicer to be in "Display Only" mode, which will allow the slicer to be visible, but not selectable.

To do this, follow these steps:
    • Click on the slicer to select it.
    • On the Excel Ribbon, go to the "Slicer Tools" tab, and click on "Options".
    • In the "Slicer Options" dialog box, select the "Buttons" tab.
    • In the "Button style" section, select the "Display only" option.
    • Click OK to apply the changes.

Once you have completed these steps, the slicer will be visible in the dashboard, but the user will not be able to select any of the items.
If you don't see Buttons tab you need to get higher version of Excel

Thank you for your answer. I am working with Microsoft 365 for enterprise which I'd bet should be the latest version. Unfortunately I don't see any Buttons tab only nº of Columns and their Height and Width unless I am not looking correctly.

    check this

In some versions of Excel, the "Display Only" option can be found in the "Slicer Styles" group on the "Slicer Tools" contextual tab.

Alternatively, you can try right-clicking on the slicer and selecting "Slicer Settings" or "Slicer Properties" from the context menu. In the settings or properties dialog, you may find an option to set the slicer to "Display Only" mode.

and update your profile about Excel Product Number and version

Re: Disable any selection choices in Slicers

You are right, the solution is to protect the sheet. However there is a little issue because the slicers have vertical scroll bars and doing so they will not work. Anyway I have workaround: As I only need these 2 slicers to display information and not interact with user I have replaced them by ActiveX textboxes linked to the same pivot table as the slicers and this way I can keep the vertical scroll bars.
But the fact that my Microsoft 365 version does not feature the "Slicer Options" > "Buttons Tab" has surprised me.
