    Banding a figure

    I have data in cell H2, it's a numerical value of 1595.

I need to see a minimum of 350
The middle value of anything in-between 351-650
and then anything over 650 in columns I2, J2 and K2.

The original figure (1595) will move week on week.
I have tried some formulas but am struggling with the middle formula and putting a lower and higher range in.

Is there a set of formulas for this?

    Thanks

    Re: Banding a figure

I'm not sure that your workbook is any clearer than your explanation. Your "H2" value is in H1. What relationship does H1 have to what you noted in I2 about if H is (H the column or H1 value of 1595 or something in H2) greater than 650 you want values between 351 and 650? Then you have a somewhat similar comment in J2 also pertaining to H then K2 mentions if H2 is greater than 650 H2-650. Is this supposed to mean H2 minus 650 or is it supposed to mean that if H2 value (as yet undetermined) is greater than 650 the value in K2 caps at 650? Can you please elaborate on things?
Formulas can give you exact outputs, you can incorporate randbetween into them to give random ranges for values based on another cell value but I (and maybe others) might struggle trying to figure out what you are asking AND wanting.

    Re: Banding a figure

    Hi Sam,

    This may be clearer.

I need to charge three difference prices depending on the number of units.

    >350 is rate 1
In between 351-650 is rate 2
and anything over 650 is rate 3.

I have 1595 units, any formula to cut and split that figure into the three pools.

    Thanks

You want to split 1595 in
    350
    300
    945
