    Averageif not working with descending data

    Strange problem here that I cannot find an answer for. Averageif is not working for me if my data is sorted descending, works fine ascending?

    Any ideas?

    Make both ranges teh same - they currently are not...
    =AVERAGEIF(C$2:C$282,D2,B$2:B$4536)

    The value in D20 is in C294, which is not within C2:C282, the range that you use for AVERAGEIF.
