Excel Ran Out of Resources - 2007 and 2013 OK, 2019-2021 Crashes

A client of mine has a file where one particular sheet generates an "Excel ran out of resources while attempting to calculate one or more formulas" error, but only when run in Excel 2019 or Office 2021. It runs fine in Excel 2013, and also runs fine on my PC (Excel 2007).
I have attached a copy of the file. Changing the date (month or year in the blue cells at the top of the Expiring sheet), which causes the cells in that sheet to recalculate, is what causes the crash. He notes that it seems to happen with 2023 dates, but not 2022.
Formulas in the blocks in that sheet are all consistent within each block, except for the "Other" rows.
Why would this work in older Excel versions, but not newer ones?

Works for me on a relatively old Toshiba laptop with Windows 10 and Excel 365.

I had to restructure the date calculations, probably due to my location.

There's a lot of horrible formulae in there but they seem to work. I haven't tried to do an analysis of any of them but I can't help thinking there must be a better way.

But, not the point ... it doesn't crash when I change the month or year. Given the data, only September and December 2022, and March and May 2023 have values. M3 returns #DIV/0!

My client sent the file to his cousin (who is also running Excel 365) and it works OK for him also.

Bear in mind that 365 isn't 2019 or 2021. That said, I don't know why it would fail under any current version.

Does your client have any issues with any other workbooks? Or is it just this one?

Are there any Add-ins or Personal Workbooks on your client's machine that may contain code that is executed when a change is made?

In trying to isolate the problem, we know that it works on your PC, my Toshiba laptop and your client's cousin's machine. We also know that it works in 2007, 2013 and 365. As it happens, I also have an old Sony Vaio laptop with Windows 8 and Excel 2010 … and it works on that. And, an Asus laptop with Windows 10 and Excel 365 … works on that too (all with that minor adjustment to the date formula). For what it's worth, it also works ok on my iPad ( 🙂👍 … and I didn’t have to change the date formula (that, I don't understand)).

I would say that narrows it down to your client's machine. It's not the formulae because, complex as they are, they will work on other machines, operating systems and versions of Excel, some old, some new.

Other than that, I cannot help. I don't suppose there's anything in any of the Windows error logs?

Suggest you Google: Excel ran out of resources while attempting to calculate one or more formulas

The question comes up a lot … but the answer is usually "fix the formula(e)".

One other thought: is the version of Excel on your client's machine 32 bit or 64 bit? And what version is it on the machines where it works? That said, not sure it makes a difference. The Sony Excel 2010 is 32 bit and the Asus Excel 365 is 64 bit (never intentionally installed 64 bit, I think it just happened 😐&#129300
