I am looking for a cell to highlight each specific day of the week. So attached I would like C1 to highlight every Tuesday, C2 to highlight each Monday and C3 to highlight each Sunday

Your sample file is not very clear, as there is only one date on each row.
Please explain more clearly what you are trying to do.

would it be possible for highlighting the cells every specific day of the week. So it is not going to be a cell with a date in it. It is a text cell.
I'm sorry, but that is no clearer to me.

CF rules:
C1 - =WEEKDAY(TODAY())=3
C2 - =WEEKDAY(TODAY())=2
C3 - =WEEKDAY(TODAY())=1

thanks Ali that is what I was looking for but was not sure if it would need a link to a date before the conditional formula
