I have a probelm summing some numbers in a large sheet since they were copied from tables pasted within email bodies and excel cant identify them as numbers, how do i change all these figures to number ?
I have a probelm summing some numbers in a large sheet since they were copied from tables pasted within email bodies and excel cant identify them as numbers, how do i change all these figures to number ?
Without a sample workbook it is difficult to diagnose fully, but you could try to select each column of numbers in turn and click on Data | Text-to-columns, and then click Finish on the dialogue box.

Often, when those strategies don't work, it is because the "number stored as text" also includes various non-printing characters (spaces including CHAR(160) or carriage returns) that need to be removed from the text.
