Make an interactive workbook for my payslips

I'm not sure how to upload files on this forum yet. I'm still quite new to vba in general as well.

Right now my payslips are organised like this "component" column, "this pay" column and "ytd" column.
YTD is the total of all past "this pay" in the current fiscal year. So I want to use something like

if( a2' a2 is the date ' =  ' some date ' , sum(Kitchen!A2:A(' last row '), ' this pay ')

But this is with excel vba format
