Re: .dbf file in power query

you need to install dbf database drive first. if your dbf file is for VFP, you should install the VFP OLEDB

You may download the VFP dbf driver at
    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/down....aspx?id=32602

and here is an example for connecting VFP formatted dbf datafile:

MyPath is a Power Query parameter, which is the directory of your dbf data files located at.

Re: .dbf file in power query

it is power query. not VBA.

If it is a normal formatted dbf (non VFP dbf file), you may also link data through MS Access Engine provider. In that case, there is no need to install the VFP OLEDB

    for example:

*Note: please check the version of the Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB provider available in your computer, and change the setting respectively (above code in bold font).

You should learn some basic knowledge about Power Query, otherwise you won’t be able to understand what I’m talking about.

I have created and attached an example file for you. Please go to [Data > Queries & Connections] to view the Power query scripts and settings.
If the data source provider was installed in your computer appropriately, you should be able to synchronize the dbf data to your Excel worksheet..
Please click the Refresh All button to load and update data.

Re: .dbf file in power query

In the above example file, I have provided 4 possible settings. If none of them work for you, it most probably due to the dbf file you provided is in VFP format. In that case, you may have to install the Visual FoxPro OLE DB Provider (VfpOleDB) to make it work.
