Overlapping error bar on chart

as attached my bar chart has error bars overlapping, and i can't seem to separate them

They overlap because the horizontal positions of all data points are the same (as far as the error bars are concerned). My first thought is you will need to come up with a way to shift one of the data series left or right in order to move the error bars for one of them left or right. I basically see two possibilities:

1) If you want to retain the column + line combination, you will need to add columns to the source data and offset the two data series:

This will probably create other issues.
2) Instead, use a column + xy scatter combination chart. Then you can add a row of "horizontal position" values for the scatter chart series and shift the data point/error bar position for that series left/right as desired.

I think that would do help.
