Positioning data within a calendar schedule

    Hi,

I'm trying to find a way of automatically positioning looked up data under certain dates.
I've attached a file as an example.
On the Data worksheet, there is a table with a number of Tasks, and each of these tasks have different activities over a number of days.
What I want to do, on the Schedule worksheet is to select the task in column A, then enter the start date in column B. The end date is calculated in column B.
I want the activities to show under the appropriate dates, e.g. select T2 (which has three days of activities) to start on 07-Jul, the activities show under 07-Jul, 08-Jul, and 09-Jul.

I'm thinking of something along the lines of using an offset based on the duration and start date, but I can't quite work it out.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Positioning data within a calendar schedule

Let me start by saying that there is probably a cleaner way to do this but, this is what I have done.

The formula in column D is different to the formula in E onwards in the schedule tab due to it being the beginning & needing needing to have a starting point.
Firstly I started by creating a IF() rule that gave a "Day X" result, I then put that into an INDEX(MATCH(MATCH)) looking back at the data table.
The zeros are used in the COUNTIF within the IF, go to the advanced settings & un-check the show zeros option to clean things up.

    Hope this helped.
