Excel likes to @ to my formulas

    Hi,

I am not sure if this is an Excel question or a VBA question. Sorry.

Does anybody know to stop Excel adding the @ to formulas? I can't find anyway to prevent this.

I find that when the @ is automatically added to a VBA macro pasted linear regression formula using the LINEST function, that the Intercept does not get calculated. When I manually delete the @ symbol, the intercept is calculate correctly.

    My formula in VBA is : Range("AV4").Formula = "=LINEST($AS$4:$AU$4,$AJ$4:$AL$4)"

But Excel likes to make it: Range("AV4").Formula = "=@LINEST($AS$4:$AU$4,$AJ$4:$AL$4)"

When I type the function manually, without the @, Excel does not add the @. It seems only to be because the VBA code is pasting the formula.

As always, any advice is greatly appreciated.

    Regards

    Jeff

It's new to 365 because of dynamic array formulae. This from another forum explains:

The @ tells the dynamic array formula to only return one value, basically act like the old array versions of the formula.

The new Dynamic Array Formula want to SPILL the values automatically.

If you remove it, the formula may not behave in the way you expect. No, as far as I am aware, there is no way to turn it off, but there may be something in settings - have a look (I can't find anything, and I'd leave well alone, if I were you, as it's happening for a reason).

The issue that when the @ is in the LINEST function, it is not returning the intercept. It returns nothing. The intercept is a vital component of the linear regression formula. Cheers

UPDATE: I have built a work around using the SLOPE & INTERCEPT functions. However, everything I have read says that The @ in 365 should not affect my equation. But it does. I welcome anybody's thoughts on the matter.

    Thanks
