changing the source of a link?

We use an excel 2016 spreadsheet for our scheduling at my work. I'm the supervisor on a particular shift and I have a separate spreadsheet that I have linked to our schedule so I have a quick snapshot of who is working for me on my shift each day. Problem is, the schedule spreadsheet has a separate sheet for each pay period (two weeks) so I have to go back and redo the links each pay period.

For example, I typed in the cell "=" then navigated to the schedule and clicked on the cell for Sunday's 1st position and then removed the $_$ from the cell and dragged it to the right so it copied Sunday-Saturday's names to my weekly snapshot. So the formula looks like this:

='G:\Schedules\Master Schedule\[2021 MASTER SCHEDULE.xlsx]pp1'!D38 (I removed the $ from the D38, it was '!$D$38, so I could copy to the right and down)

But when I get to pay period 2 (pp2 sheet) I have to do this all over again.

Is there a way that I can just point the formula to a new sheet, like pp2, since it is all in an identical format each sheet, so I don't have to do the "=", remove the $$, copy right and down, etc... each time.

    Thanks for any help.

This could be done with an INDIRECT formula, but the master schedule file has to be open or the formula will give an error.

Another option would just be doing a find & replace on the formulas. Select the range containing the formulas and find "pp1" and replace with "pp2". It's still a manual step but not a hardship for once every two weeks.

It could also be automated with VBA.

Thanks. I will have to look into the Find and Replace, not familiar with it, and see how it works.
