Tabs In Hide/Unhide Out Of Sequence...

Does anyone know why some of my tabs that I choose to hide/unhide (see first screenshot below) are out of sequence/order? I think I'm using the same naming convention so I'm not sure what is causing this problem for them to be out of order. Also, when I click on "hide" for any given tab, I make sure to do it in order but this didn't help either. They are still sorted out of order. See the 4 screenshots below...

Below is showing (Billing Wk #42 10.14-10.20) but notice this was inserted within the other tabs named Wk #40

Below is showing the remaining Billing Wk #40...

Below is showing some of the months are also out of order...

they are sorted out of order when you make them visible AFTER hiding them initially?

    furthermore, does this help?

What do you mean by "Out of order"?
AFAIK the sheet names will always be listed in the same order as their position within the workbook.

Re: Tabs In Hide/Unhide Out Of Sequence...

In the pics, they show tabs for...
    1. Wk #...
    2. Billing Wk #...
    3. April '20...

Most of these tabs that I've hidden are sorted correctly, assuming it's sorting in alphabetical order. So I'm hoping someone can explain why the pics show some tabs out of order. It's making it more difficult to find what I need when I try to unhide a tab as I have to sort through many mix matched tabs. I was hoping this was an easy fix but it seems maybe it's not and I know it's difficult to explain this which is why I'm hoping someone can see the differences I'm talking about form the pics I posted.

The naming convention is the same with the exception of either Wk or Billing Wk and then the #. So why is Excel showing some out of order such as the 2nd pic shows ...#42

...but it's 'Billing Wk #42 10.14-10.20' so it should be sorted further down where the rest of the Billing Wk tabs are sorted. Same with the 3rd pic. and the 4th pick showing months.

Like I said, I'm assuming Excel sorts these tabs once you hide them in alphabetical order but even if Excel doesn't, I have tried hiding them in order and Excel still shuffles them around with no rhyme or reason. ???

Excel does not "sort" the list, the hidden sheets should appear in the same order as there position in the workbook.
So if you hide the 1st sheet in the book, that sheet should always appear at the top of the list. Are you saying that is not happening?

Fluff13, you are right! It sorts these tabs depending on where they were originally in the workbook! I tested it by selecting Unhide, then simply moved the tab and selected Hide again and it sorted it where I wanted it!

So I must have moved some of these before not realizing it but now that I know how it works I can fix this and keep them all in order to find them again.

    Thank you very much!!!
