Copy & Paste Values, pastes value of cell below

Never have I ever encountered this issue in twenty three years of working with Excel & VBA ... SMH (Scratching My Head). After using the same table/functionality for several years, the following occurred in Win7/Excel 2010 for three months before upgrading to Win10/Excel 2016.

With a cell formula that returns text, when copying then pasting the text value to remove the formula, the value pasted is from the cell below.

This occurs in a table ranging A to K columns. Column A cell provides the target for formulas in cells of columns B to K that use INDEX MATCH & VLOOKUP. The formulas work properly bringing in the correct data. The problem exists when converting the formulas to static data by copying the cells in B thru K to then pasting the values; the pasting results in the values from the row below the one just copied.

The cells of column A are text cells while the cells of columns B thru K contain formulas and all formulas refer to the row they and column A are on. Regardless of text or formula the value to be pasted comes from the row below. Even the header row (all text data) wants to paste the value of the row below.

Prior to posting, the worksheet was copied to a new workbook. Same results. The table was converted to a range. The problem went away. After inserting a new table using the same range, the problem returned. Removed the table and created a new table using an entirely different range. The problem occurs in the new table. Closed workbook and Excel. Re-opened both, same problem.

This is infuriating. I'll take whatever you've got.

Please attach a sample workbook (not a picture or pasted copy). Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.

Remember to desensitize the data.
