Want to make labels of varying lengths

Hi all!

I want to make labels for a shelf, where the width of the labels would be "X" cells wide.

For example, for:
Apple, 4
Banana, 3
Cherry, 5

I would have a label "APPLE" that was 4 merged cells wide, "BANANA" that is 3 merged cells wide, etc.

The purpose of doing it this way is so that if next month I want to change Banana to 4 and Cherry to 6, I can do it easily without having to Unmerge & Merge.

so what is the question? are you asking how to merge cells. if that's it, you simply highlight the range of cells and push Ctrl+1 on the windows keyboard.

No, I'm sorry.

I want the length of the label to be as wide as the value in another cell (Let's say A1). Therefore, if I change the value of that A1, the label would automatically be adjusted to be the length of A1 cells wide.

sounds like all you have to do then is merge the label cells the same way you merge the value's cells. no? you can do it with code I think, in the:
[code]worksheet.change()
[/cove]
event.

you could also do it manually I would think
