    Baseball Line Up - How to Generate

    Help all

    I'm new to coaching and was wondering if anyone knows of a spreadsheet that can do the following? I have 11 players on the team and it is an 11 game schedule. A person on the bench can only sit for 1 inning and would like to do my best to have kids play 2 positions per game. Does anyone have something that can do this?

    Thanks in advance.

    That looks good. Is there a way to fill that in and then have it sort for 11 games and have equal amount per game?

    Yea that was just a basic template I came up with. Give me the names of your players and I'll work something out.

    @Mikeava

    Sorry for off-topic interjection:

    Although there is no official rule regarding this behavior, we request that wherever possible both the question AND the answer be provided in substantive detail here within the thread. An attached workbook is an excellent aid for posing a question and offering a solution, but solely doing that with no in thread explanation makes it difficult for researchers to understand or consider the Q & A of this thread without downloading what may be a pointless doc to them, if they can do that at all. Doing that also hides the content from search engines so others may never benefit from this.

    I'm sure you understand, and we look forward to seeing you post your formulas/macros in your posts for the searching benefit of all.

    I looked at the baseball lineup template at the linked site and it looks as if it is something that you might be able to use on a game by game basis.

    Sorry something came up and I was not able to fully finish this for you. This is the template that I created, if you don't want to use JeteMc's suggestion and search for templates yourself.

    I did manage to use Groups to break up the games. For example if you click on the minus sign on line 15, Game 1 will be hidden, until you hit the plus sign to display it.
    Column M and N are used to make sure that you fill every position. You should have 9 entries in Column N for each position to ensure you didn't forget that position in an inning.

    Hope this gets you started, sorry again I couldn't finish for you.
