Sequential autofill, but on multiple rows.

    Arrow Sequential autofill, but on multiple rows.

    1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10
    11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20
    21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30

    If I type 1 into a cell, I can click on the bottom-right of that cell and drag the plus sign to the right until I've selected numerous cells, and it autofills in sequential order... but only one row at a time.

    At the moment, I would have to manually type 11, and then fill the next row. Then again, manually type 20 and drag fill another row, etc.

    I try dragging over multiple rows, but Excel won't let me. I can drag horizontal or vertical, but only ever one row or column at a time.

    Is there a faster way to autofill to get the result seen at the top?

    I entered 1 in A1, 2 in B1, 11 in A2, 12 in B2, 21 in A3 and 22 in B3, then grabbed the lower right corner, dragged right through col J and down a couple hundred rows in less than 10 seconds to give me more results than you are showing. How fast do you need it done?

    Filling cells A1 with 1, A2 with 11, and A3 with 21 will certainly let me autofill all three rows accordingly in one swipe and match what's seen up top... but that requires me counting and working out what the cells A2 and A3 are.

    I was hoping to skip that step, and be able to type in 1 and have Excel work out itself what goes in each cell after that, including what the cells at the start of row 2 and 3.

    Just so I can bypass using my brain and saying "Okay, there's 10 cells in the top row. Therefore the next row starts with 11 (and type that in). Therefore the next row starts with..."

    so am I correct in my assumption that you are looking for a formula you can put into cell B1 or A2 and drag right then down to fill in what you want and the formula needs to be set up in a way you can adjust it for different end points? Or VBA to accomplish the same thing?

    I'm just looking for the minimum steps possible to click and drag cell 1 across multiple rows, and have it sequential fill.

    I can do that one row at a time, but filling three rows in one gesture would be nice.

    I don't know how to make it easier, I put 1 in A1, 2 in B1, 11 in A2, 12 in B2 then highlighted all those four cells, grabbed the bottom right and dragged right to col J then down as far as I wanted and so, 4 inputs and two drags. Filled in as far as I wanted to go in seconds.
    Excel understands the sequences so it just picks things up.
    Not sure it can be done in one gesture.
