Weighting Exam Grades By Low Medium High

    Greetings all,

I am running down to the wire and grades are due tomorrow. I would like to write a formula that would take a students exam scores (3 scores total in a row) and weight the best score by 25%, the middle score by 20%, and the lowest score as 15%. Ideally I would be able to select the exam array, input that into the formula and it would be each one in a separate column. Then I would like to drag and drop the formula for all students. I'm not the best at excel so the easiest way would be best!

    Thanks!

Re: Weighting Exam Grades By Low Medium High

if you are only dealing with three scores, assuming they are in cells A1, B1 and C1, then ...
    for best =MAX(A1:C1)*1.25
    for middle =MEDIAN(A1:C1)*1.2
    for lowest =MIN(A1:C1)*1.15
adjust the ranges and if I misunderstood the percentages, adjust them. Hope that helps.

EDIT: and if I misunderstood your weighting then maybe these...
    for best =MAX(A1:C1)*.25
    for middle =MEDIAN(A1:C1)*.2
    for lowest =MIN(A1:C1)*.15
