Get data from Excel spreadsheet via Barcode scan

Um, a Barcode scanner is just a glorified keyboard that types in the numbers shown below the bars. I wouldn't expect a keyboard to export spreadsheet data and display it on a screen when I typed in a product number at the keys and so neither would I expect the scanner to do so when I zapped the bars...

Depending on how pro and/or secure you want to go with this project, the "easy" way to get started would likely be to setup a LAMP stack on a Raspberry Pi

and use that to host a simple PHP page that runs a prepared SQL statement on the database which presents back the results to the user when the keyboard/scanner fills out an html form with the product key

then you can have a separate process that connects to the database and syncs it to the Excel sheet's data.

this should give you a way to dip your toe in the water on the loading dock's WiFi at well under $60.00(US), but still be ready to lift-n-shift to a multinational enterprise-wide scale solution when you're ready.

(of course if you already have a crusty Win7 box sitting on the loading dock mostly printing labels and collecting dust you could just as easily setup a similar IIS/ASP solution under the windows architecture as well)

Why not just click on column A?.

A simple macro would populate column B for you.

The Barcode that you See on Column A is simply a Number. Set the Format to General to see it.

I keep forgetting that smart phones do Excel these days. If so you may be able to get away with a simple vlookup solution as well, but if you're talking about keeping more than one phone updated with the most current locations sheet it could get a bit tricky (maybe a cloud sheet?).
