Excel sheets open up upside down

I have recently moved from an old Mac laptop to a new one. I had the data transferred at an iStore.

My existing excel sheets open up upside down, and I think the sheets are mirror-imaged. Or something.

When I tab to the right onto unused cells and then back again, it self-corrects.

But if I send a spreadsheet to a friend as an attachment, it opens up correctly.

Help please.

I have just noticed: when I create a blank workbook from the templates, the numbers in the very left-most column are upside down.
They go from 1 to 16 in the wrong order, flowed by 32 t0 17 in the wrong order and so on.
