    Uppercase to Lowercase

    Hi,

I'm new here, so apologies if I'm posting in the wrong place!

I'm having an issue with my my Excel on my Apple Mac.

When I import information in to excel, it comes in all caps/uppercase.

Is there a way to change it to lowercase without retyping all the information?

    Thanks in advanced,
    Matt

    Welcome to the forum.

You could process it in another column:

    =LOWER(A1)

    Re: Uppercase to Lowercase

In an adjacent column you can use this formula:

    =LOWER(A1)

assuming your data to be in column A, and then copy this formula down. Then you can fix the values and either delete column A or copy/paste the column B values into column A and then delete column B.

    Hope this helps.

    Re: Uppercase to Lowercase

I tried the formula you've all kindly shared above but no luck. I don't want to post a screenshot, its sensitive information.

I was hoping there would just be a quick button to press, similar to WORD. No worries.

    Thank you anyway!

    Re: Uppercase to Lowercase

What went wrong when you tried it? You can share a small set of dummy data.

The only way to do it at the push of a button would be to go down the VBA route.
