My son gave me a formula for a checkbook register which I love, however each month when I reconcile the checkbook I download my statement in the form of a CSV file which I convert into an Excel workbook then I copy and paste that workbook into my Excel checkbook and proceed to use the find and replace function to compare the statement to the register. Once I find the match I place a checkmark next to it and then I delete that item from the statement so anything I have left over or the outstanding checks. Usually takes me close to an hour to accomplish this task so I am just looking for something that will save me some time. I am sure I could get my son to take on this task as he uses Excel everyday for the company he works for he has written a ton of Macros for Excel but I hate to keep bothering him as he has young children.
