Hi,
I hoping someone can help me. I have a competition scoring spreadsheet in which 4- 5 players get 7 scores/ rounds, I am able to total the top 4 scores at the end of the competition and rank them accordingly.
I'm also trying to figure out a running total that computes what each player will need to get 1st, 2nd or 3rd place as we get to the final rounds.
I can provide a link to the spreadsheet if that helps.

Welcome to the forum.
Please attach a sample workbook (not a picture or pasted copy). Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.
Remember to desensitize the data.
Click on GO ADVANCED and then scroll down to Manage Attachments to open the upload window.

The after sheet seems the same as the before sheet. What result are you expecting in the first to get 1st box and why?

We need to know what the results would be in the sample that you have provided.
There is no indication of a winning score or a goal that would need reaching, so how would we determine what they would need to get to rank first?
the score is in column H.

Beyond those columns (J,K,L) i want to figure out a formula that will let player 4 know (and the other players as well) what he/she will need to score to get into 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. its the top 4 scores that will be the total score (and ranked) so the lowest score will drop if it is larger.
What would the results be for these cells based on the data you have provided and why?

Please give numbers, not an explanation. How would you calculate this manually? What is each stage out of? What is the total maximum score?
