Function to click cell and highlight row

Maybe this is rudimentary but is there a setting or is it conditional formatting in a large excel spreadsheet to click on a cell and the whole row (or column) automatically highlights? Sometimes it is difficult to visually trace across the whole line to be sure you are on the correct row.
