Bar Diagram Formating (displaying progress of goal)

Hi,

For my boardgame gamelog I'm in the process of adding challenges for my friends and I.

I want to make a graph similar to the graph I have attached in this post. I have tried to make bar charts in Excel but was unable to format it properly.

I would be very grateful if someone could lend me a hand. I have attached a dummy workbook.

Normally you'd use 100% stacked bar chart.

However, I see that in some cases, you have current stats that exceed Goal (thus will be over 100%).

How should these be handled? I don't see such a case in your sample image.

Thanks for replying.

In case of current stats exceeding goal(ex 56 stats vs 50 goal). I would like the display/graph be limited to the goal. In this case it would be 50/50, not 56/50.

When I open the excel file in Excel 2013 all the graph labels show as " [CELLRANGE] " instead ex " 14/20 ".

Do you know a workaround?

Go to chart editor. And select the option for "From Range" for data label.

If that's not available, you can always add textbox and link it to range via formula to display text.
