Dear all,
Hi! I have this problem I would like to solve but I'm not sure how to go about it:
I have 2 workbooks (Master, Slave) and 1 document of interest (Word Doc).
I created a hyperlink on the Master workbook (Master Link) to the Word Doc.
I would then like to copy Master Link to a cell in the Slave workbook such that (Slave Link) leads immediately to the Word Doc like what Master Link does, instead of going to the Master Link cell in the Master workbook to click on the Master Link to go to Word Doc. This is because I would like to distribute the Slave workbook but close it for editing and only keep the Master workbook as the only editable workbook.
Also, when I change the Master Link on the Master workbook, the Slave Link should reflect this change automatically (w/o manual copying and pasting) and go to the new Word Doc accordingly.
I've tried copying hyperlinks and external references but it doesn't work. Does anyone have any tips/solutions/suggestions? Will Macros be the only way to go forward?
Thank you for your help!
The problem looks something like this in summary:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1) Master Link -> Word Doc
2) Would like Slave Link = Master Link and such that Slave Link -> Word Doc immediately instead of Slave Link -> Master Link -> Word Doc (longer route)
3) Changing Master Link would automatically update Slave Link equivalently since Slave Link = Master Link
