Every time I open Excel, I get a popup stating that no error was detected in personal.xlsb. A minor annoyance perhaps, but I'd like to clear the condition that triggers the message. Any ideas?

Welcome to the forum.
My first reaction to to your question is good to know.no errors is always welcome ?
You probably recorded a macro and by accident stored it in your personal macro book which is actually the Personal.xlsb
This file is located in the Excel Startup folder under your username and appdata some where on the C-drive in the user profile folder.
If you're sure there is nothing important in this file just delete it (before opening Excel) and you'll be rid of it.
Another option is that you (unwillingly) installed an Add-In but wouldn't know what it had to do with the Personal macrobook, but...

Actually, I have macros stored in personal.xlsb, and very much want the file to load when I fire up Excel. I'd just prefer it didn't tell me that there are no errors in it, every time it loads. I've not seen this message before, and don't know what triggers it.
A macro is something very stupid, can't thnki on its own and just does what's programmed to do.
You probably inserted a message box that is triggered, just deactivate that line,
A macro doesn't write itself![]()
No messagebox commands at all in my macros. Nor would I have any reason to pop up a message "No errors were detected in 'personal.xlsb'. No repairs were necessary.". This box is clearly generated by Excel due to some condition detected in the file.
The it all comes down to troubleshooting.
Extract the macros from your personal macrobook and save these on your disk, close excel, delete the personal macrobook and restart it. what then?
If it starts okay the create a new personal macrobook and start adding the macros one by one, every time closing excel and restarting it until you you've had them all.
Alo think of ribbon issues, custom ribbon?
Add-Ins?
