Disabling filter options

Hi guys,

Is it possible to disable filtering options?

Basically i have multiple spreadsheets for individuals which will contain data regarding other individuals. I have an IFERROR Message in place so the data of other individuals won't be visible.

Ideally i would want an index match function to work whereby i do not have to worry about this issue. But i can't get it to worK. Thereofore, can someone tell me if i can set a filter on an excel file and then have this functionality disbaled so a user cannot change it and filter to see other things?

Protect the sheet. There is an option to 'Allow users to use autofilter'

I've not used it personally, but it sounds like it should be what you need.
