Updating an excel spreadsheet using data from another excel spread sheet

I keep track of orders in one spreadsheet and I pull data from an order database in to another spreadsheet. In the order spreadsheet, I have a Comments column that I put my own personal information in to. The problem is, when one values changes in an old order (there are 8 different values that I pull per order), I don't know how to keep my comments synced to the new data. So all I've been doing is adding new orders while going in and trying to manually update all the old orders

What I would like, instead of continually adding to the tracking spreadsheet and manually updating everything, is to have the data from the database spreadsheet pushed in to my tracking spreadsheet while also keeping my comments attached to the right order. If an old order with my comments is completed, I would like it removed completely.

Is there an easy way of doing this?

Attach sample workbooks (not a picture or pasted copy). Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.

    Remember to desensitize the data.

Re: Updating an excel spreadsheet using data from another excel spread sheet

Attached the documents. The database.xlsx is an example of where I'm getting my data from. The backlog.xlsx is what I manage. To recap, I'm wanting to pull the specific database fields from the database.xlsx to update my backlog.xlsx. I put some notes within the backlog spreadsheet with further detail.

    Thanks!
