I have an Excel file which always opens with the purple "Protect" button enabled. I don't want this. I just want to be able to edit the sheet without having to hit that button every time I open it.
I tried 'Unprotect Sheet' and 'Unprotect Workbook'. I also tried adding the file's location to my Trusted locations. I also tried turning off all three checkboxs in the 'Protected View' tab in Trust Center Settings.
Nothing works! That purple button is worse than bedbugs, I cannot get rid of it.

Any suggestions?
