Hi,
I want to enter a 4 digit number in a cell like 2018. Then in another cell convert that to years.
Does anyone know how?
Thank you,

Okay thank you for the replies. Basically I have the Setup sheet. Then in the Holidays sheet cell A1 I want it to show what is entered for the formulas in that sheet. Now it is referring to the Shift Hours sheet first. I want to bypass that sheet.
I am sorry for the trouble I'm just trying to understand and learn about these formats.
I want to just enter the year in the first cell by typing 2018 and keep it to show 2018.

If I type 2018 into a cell it stays like that. What happens when you do it? Is this to do with the cell formatting you have set? Attach a workbook.
Excel 2016 (Windows) 32 bit
A 1 2018
Sheet: Sheet1
There is no trouble! We just need to understand your query, that's all, otherwise, we can't help.
I am afraid I still don't understand. Which formulae on the holidays sheet do you want to use for the year in A1?
Thank you very much for helping. All of them to refer to the Setup sheet cell D6 instead of the Shift Hours sheet.
Oh just the column A and H in the Holidays sheet formulas
Do you mean this?
=DATE(Setup!$D$6,1,1)
Yes that works now. It wasn't working before. Thank you so much.
I am not understanding how references and dates or texts are treated.
OK, well you are going to need to be much more specific in your queries if you want help working that out. Glad it's working now!
