When I copy from a Google Sheets source file to my desktop Excel 2017 destination file, some of the dates do not adopt the desktop date format. The dates in the source file is as I want it ( example 14-Mar-2012 ) and the destination file is also set to the same date format. I have tried re setting the date file after import but that did not work. The only solution I have found is to delete the offending cells in the destination file and manually re-enter the date. As there are over 28,000 cells out of 175,000 that need to be corrected that's not a practical solution.

Any guidance will be most welcome
