I am trying to come up with a staff schedule using excel.
I have 5 staff members and need '24/7' coverage* (there will be 2 hours per day where coverage is provided by another area which we do not have to schedule for - 5am to 6am, and 5pm to 6pm).
Day Shift is 6am to 5pm (11 hours including a 1 hour unpaid lunch)
Night Shift is 6pm to 5am (11 hours including a 1 hour unpaid lunch)
On weekdays, during the day there needs to be an additional staff member working. Day Shift (2) is 7am to 4pm (9 hours including a 1 hour unpaid lunch).
Maximum hours per week is 40 paid hours, each staff member should be paid 70 hours per bi-weekly period.
A rotating schedule over a period of weeks is acceptable.
I'm unsure where to begin with this.
I have included an example (attached). The first chart is one bi-weekly period of the current schedule, the second chart is to be the proposed new schedule, the third chart is the daily coverage. All of the hours listed include a 1 hour unpaid lunch.
