Creating a Drop down list that will take you to a specific place on a worksheet.

I have a very long worksheet in excel. I want to put a dropdown at the top of the sheet that will take me to a specific spot in the worksheet. For example if I have Office Supply, Power, and Phone in a drop down list. When I select Power I want it to take me to the section of the sheet that deals with power.

Can anyone help?

Hi

The easy solution is to filter the spreadsheet.

Click in the arrow in the frame at A1. Select Ribbon Data/Filter.

By selecting the resulting arrow in approriate column you can filter needed ie power.

Hope this helps and don't forget the reputation points if appropriate.

Cheers

I am looking for something more like a one click. But I don't have enough room for that many buttons.

I dont think you can do the HL inside the DD. If you would be OK with using a helper cell for the HL (say A1), you could the DD in, say B1
A1=HYPERLINK("#"&"A"&MATCH(B1,A:A,0),B1)
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools
3. Click on the star if you think someone helped you

Drop down boxes do not work with Worksheet_ChangeEvent Macros, however, if you abandon the DD and type specific words into the cell, then you can activate the move with a Worksheet_ChangeEvent.
