    Normalizing Data

    Hi all,

    I have two data type
    1. Customer Contacts: the number of contacts via phone, chat, email, etc. for a given time
    2. Contacts Per (Order Line) Item: Ratio showing contact rate per order. Total contacts divided by total orders placed within a time period.

My question is, I need to find out a way to normalize the data using excel. I need to present the data in a way that shows if, for example, a rise in contacts in one week is driven by Order volume.

I was given the graph attached as a way to show normalized data, but I'm not sure how to interpret it. Any thoughts? I've also included the data that I need to graph to show normalization. Can someone please tell me how graphing the data would show the relationship between contact volume and order volume and what inferences I can make using the data?

    Re: Normalizing Data

First of all, you will probably get a better response if you attach a sample workbook. Secondly, I'm not sure we have the same concept of Normalized Data. Given the limited amount in the pictures the data would look something like the picture.

Attach a sample workbook (not a picture or pasted copy). Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.

    Remember to desensitize the data.

Click on GO ADVANCED and then scroll down to Manage Attachments to open the upload window.

One spreadsheet to rule them all. One spreadsheet to find them. One spreadsheet to bring them all and at corporate, bind them.

A picture is worth a thousand words, but a sample spreadsheet is more likely to be worked on.
