    Multiple conditions for conditional formatting

    Is it possible to use conditional formatting on a cell (say B2) that is reliant upon the outcome of C2 and E2 and G2. Thanks.

    Yes.

    If you want more, then you need to give a bit more.

    Re: Multiple conditions for conditional formatting

    Well, it works like this - you tell us, in as much detail as you can, what data you have and what you would like to achieve, and then we'll try to solve that particular problem and tell you how to do it. So, what do you have in cells C2, E2 and G2, and what conditions would you like to apply to B2 to trigger the conditional formatting?

    Without any details we can't help you.

    Hope this helps.

    OK, thank you very much. I didn't realise that you would be prepared to spoon-feed me.

    I want to turn cell the background of cell J2 green if P2>=2.40 and S2<=3.00 and W2>0 and Y2<=0

    Does that make sense.

    Re: Multiple conditions for conditional formatting

    Select cell J2 then click on Conditional Formatting | New Rule | Use a Formula... (at the bottom of the list), then put this formula in the dialogue box:

    =AND(P2>=2.4,S2<=3,W2>0,Y2<=0)

    Click on the Format button | Fill tab and choose your shade of green, then click on OK twice to exit the dialogue box.

    If you want this to apply to other cells down column J, then select J2, click the Format Painter icon, and then with your mouse you can select the cells from J3 down that you want this to apply to. Alternatively, you could have selected all those cells first, with J2 as the active cell, and Excel would have adjusted the cell references automatically to suit each row.

    Hope this helps.
