Unhappy Filter Multiple sheets at once

I have 5 sheets that all have an ID field in column A that I want to filter on. I want to filter the 2nd,3rd,4th, & 5th sheets after I filter for a specific ID on the 1st sheet, and if i filter for an ID on any of the 5 sheets it will filter for the same ID on all the other sheets. These 5 sheets are not the only sheets in the workbook, as I have 2 other sheets that are not like the others at all and dont want those filtered.

I was told by a peer that VBA does not need to be used to solve this problem, I know VBA will solve it but I dont want to go down that path. Will power queries, advanced filters or hyperlinks help solve my problem? I've been researching how to do it without VBA for about 2 hours now and I've given up.

Let me know what you guys think is the best and most efficient way to solve this problem. Thanks!

    Welcome to the forum!

If you don't want VBA, then PowerQuery would be the next best thing. Any more specific advice would require a sample workbook so we can see the layout, etc.

Thanks - I'm going to take a look. I think it will require a data model. Let me see what I can do!

OK - looking again at your requirements, I'm not sure this can be done quite as you wish without VBA.

You might want to start here and read up on data models and see if it will get you anywhere close to what you want: https://support.office.com/en-us/art...0-5c75dbcb0f7b

Maybe someone else here who is more familiar with data models can advise a little more.

Re: Filter Multiple sheets at once

Okay! Thank you for the help anyway!

To me this doesn't seem that hard to accomplish, cause it seems like all you have to do is connect the filters on the ID columns in the different worksheets, so that when you change one, all the worksheets should filter.

If any1 else can help solve this problem without VBA please let me know! because I know it can be done
