Reformatting data with a : [colon] to text returns a decimal number

    Hello,

This is in relation to importing data from a .csv but also is a problem in general.

If I have cells that I want formatted as text that includes a colon : it returns a decimal value upon reformatting.

This isn't a problem if the cell is pre-formatted as text before the data is entered.

It is only a problem if the data has to be formatted into text, as in, importing a .csv file with a text column that includes data such as "114:223".

If I import the .csv, and select that that column with the colon be imported as text, it somehow gets converted in a decimal value.

Same is true in general. If you type 114:223 into a cell formatted as general, and then try to reformat that cell to text, the same thing happens, it gets converted into some decimal value.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks
