Heya, just looking to see if this is an excel issue.
I can open a csv in notepad and read the symbols no problem, but when I open excel it get's a little funky.
Ω -> Ω
± -> ±
µF -> µF
Any idea how I can fix this?

Attach a sample workbook. Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need.
Remember to desensitize the data.
Click on GO ADVANCED and then scroll down to Manage Attachments to open the upload window.
Uploaded. Open in excel has the funky symbols, open in notepad has normal symbols.
I don't see any problem

I am very jealous of your excel right now.
So somewhere our settings are different...???
Some additional info - I can copy the symbol from notepad and paste it in excel and it looks fine. And I opened your file you uploaded and it showed the symbols fine. But when I open up my source file in excel right away, it doesn't read them correctly.
CSV is not an Excel file by default
so try import, not open directly
Data - From Text
separated by comma
csvimport.jpg
you can use Text for all columns or stay with General format

Ah! I just found out about importing csvs today. I was missing the file origin. I needed to open it in UTF-8. Problem solved!
Do you always open csvs by doing import and origin in UTF-8??? A bit more work then just double clicking the file![]()

CSV is a text file (Comma Separated Values) not Excel file.
it will be the same if you change extension from csv to txt.
