    Grouping / Ungrouping columns

    Hi there,

I hope you can help me.
I am constantly having to ungroup a number of columns / rows in order to group again as I have to add another 1 column / row.
Is there a way of simply extending the current grouped column by adding the next column / row, or do I have to ungroup first, then regroup again!

    Thanks and Regards

    Nim

    Re: Grouping / Ungrouping columns

Adding a column to the right or row to the left of a group should result in it being added to the group. For example, if you have cols E-K grouped, select L1 and add a column, the new col L should be added to the group.

What doesn't work is to add to the left of / above a group. For example, with the same E-K group, selecting E1 and adding a column will result in a new col D which is not in the group.
It's probably possible to fix this using VBA but that's not my area of expertise. The only way I know of to work around it is to have a blank row/column at the top/left of the group and add below/to the right of it.

    Sorry I can't help more.

I recently started a new job so am a bit busy and may not reply quickly. Sorry - it's not personal - I will reply eventually.
If your problem is solved, please go to 'Thread Tools' above your first post and 'Mark this Thread as Solved'.
If you use commas as your decimal separator (1,23 instead of 1.23) then please replace commas with semi-colons in your formulae.
You don't need to give me rep if I helped, but a thank-you is nice.
