Bar code scanning for "today's" date

Hello everyone I am new to the excel game. I had help last year creating a formula, that when I scan a bar code on one of my tanks, it would populate "Today's" date in the spreadsheet. I attached a picture, A14 is where the bar code is and i want the current date to show up in AB14. Well we have switched computers in our company and things are not working so well now. I scan the bar codes and no dates populate. This is the formula that worked last year. =IF(A14<>"",IF(AB14="",NOW(),AB14),"")
