Importing Statistics - Macro or Formula?

Good evening all!!

My next project is going to see me create a sheet that will need to collate statistics from reports that are created on an Adhoc basis;

The “yearly report” will take data from templated sheets as and when they are made and saved and display a “Grand Total” of an amount in the yearly report.

Is there a way by using Forumla to take data from something created retrospectively and maybe more than once?

Or is it Macro territory?

I've currently got two projects on the go at the moment but this will be the next thing I will try and get back to ASAP with a result.
