Hi everybody,
I am reaching out to you today because I am having some troubles creating a variable list that depends on the value of one cell (see attached file).
On one worksheet, I have a list of Cost Centers associated with several possible family codes (that are in the same cell, and if there is more than one possible value, then they are separated by a coma).
On another worksheet, I have a selection of those same Cost Centers that can show up in any order and that can change depending on the data that is in other Worksheets.
I have 2 questions:
1) Is it possible to do in a quick way a formula that will put in a cell in front of each cost center a list with the good possibilities (without showing the whole list because 99% of the values don't matter, people will only have to choose among 2 or 3 values max)?
2) Do I need to change the way the data is presented? for instance, separate the values in a cell if there are more than one? As I have more than 1000 cells, is there a quick way of doing this?
In the example I am giving to you, I am showing the expected outcome but am using a handmade list for each one of the Cost Centers but :
1) as I have many Cost Centers potentially I can't do it by hand
2) If the cost centers change, the list will remain and it will more than likely be the wrong list as the cost center might not have those family codes at all
Thank you so much for your help!
